Hello & welcome to Flourish Midwifery!
My name is Charmaine & I am a proud Mum to 9 incredible children, Nanny to 2 amazing little boys & an Endorsed Midwife.
For 8 years I have had the honour of supporting hundreds of families welcome hundreds of babies across all sectors of healthcare as well as within the home, and I still cant get enough of the power of women & birth. It truly is the best job in the world!
My passion and personal philosophy of care is to empower women and their partners to embrace their pregnancy with excitement; welcome labour & birth with trust and confidently step into parenthood strong ....in a word I want you to FLOURISH!
Currently I am offering private midwifery services including home birth throughout the greater Brisbane & the Gold Coast and if you are pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant then I would love to chat with you more about how I can serve you
Private Midwifery Offerings
Pregnancy Care
During your pregnancy, I will see you in the comfort of your home for 5-12 long appointments (depending on your individual needs). Medicare rebates available (if Medicare eligible) for all antenatal appointments
As an Endorsed Midwife, I can order ultrasounds, blood tests & prescribe medications as needed.
At 36 weeks you will meet the second midwife and the birth pool will be delivered with instructions on when and how to set it up.
I am on call 24/7 for you from your first appointment for any concerns or questions that may pop up along the way...no need for Dr Google
Labour & Birth
It's baby time!
The second midwife & I will attend your home to support you and your birth partners during your labour and birth, ensuring you and your baby journey safely in every aspect. We carry all of the necessary supplies including emergency equipment and medications in the unlikely event that we may need them. After the birth we remain with you and your baby for 4 + hours to support you both as you discover this brand new world. In the unlikely event that you have to transfer to hospital at any stage, I attend as your support person/advocate.
Postnatal Care
In the six weeks that follow the birth of your baby, I will come to your home as many times as you need for postnatal visits. Medicare rebates available (if Medicare eligible) for all postnatal appointments.
During these appointments I will holistically assess you and your baby, ensuring that you are both thriving in the bliss that is the postnatal period. I remain on call for you during this special time just in case you need extra support or guidance as you master your intuition and navigate the road ahead.
Although the idea of a home birth and traditional midwifery care is exciting there are often many questions to consider before deciding if it is the right choice for you and your family.
